You asked and, we listened. Submit now offers social login support to clients on the Start, Create and Pro pricing plans while Enterprise clients can now enjoy complete custom Enterprise level single sign-on (SSO) support.

What is single sign-on (SSO)?

Single sign-on (SSO) is a way to enable single-click credentials and secure identity verification while also improving user experience.

Submit enables SSO via OAuth (Open Authorization), an open standard for token-based authentication and authorization on the Internet.

Capterra compares SSO to a kind of digital ID card: “If I get pulled over for speeding, the police officer doesn’t have to know me personally; they can just look at my license and see that the State of Maryland vouches for my identity.”

SSO works in the same way. When signing up to a website, it asks the likes of Google, Microsoft, Facebook or LinkedIn to validate your identity.

Social login for Start and Pro clients

Social login support is now available to Start and Pro clients. Social login is a type of SSO. It uses existing information from a social networking service such as Facebook or LinkedIn, to sign in to your Submit domain instead of creating a new login account.

Single sign-on (SSO) for Enterprise clients

Enterprise clients can now enjoy extra security with complete single sign-on SSO support. Enterprise SSO includes social login but also other platforms such as Google, Microsoft and A whole host of others.

Why will  Enterprise clients want single sign-on (SSO)?

Simple. Convenience for users.

A 2011 study found that 77% of people prefer using SSO as a means of authentication over more traditional online registration methods

Users no longer have to remember twelve variations of the same password—just one. For example, allowing people to sign in with their Google account is likely to cover the majority of possible users. Especially when you consider there are more than 1,5 billion Gmail users worldwide.

This convenience also provides a lower barrier to entry. New users sign up quickly and securely by relying on a tool they use every day. Google manages the process, so your candidates only focus on completing their grant, awards, scholarship, or TV talent casting submission.

It also saves people time. Logging in and registering becomes as simple as it is with Facebook. With SSO, there is no need to go through lengthy sign-up and verification processes because Facebook has done the heavy lifting with email verification and data collection.
